The Simple Golf Swing Review

The Simple Golf Swing

A book by David Nevogt

Rating: ★★★★★

  • I bought "The Simple Golf Swing" in order to improve my golf handicap, which at the time of purchase was in the low 90's.
  • Consistency had been a problem that had plagued and frustrated me, to the point at which I decided I needed help to improve my golf as it had proven impossible to make the necessary improvements to my game by trying to do it all myself.
  • Determining that I needed to learn how to improve my golf swing was a big part of my decision to purchase this ebook and programme.
As promised in the programme I was able to see immediate results and dropped about 4 shots from my score within the first week. This for me was a great achievement.
  • The real benefit for me has been that this improvement has continued, meaning the consistency in my game has been established and I can look forward to playing consistently and improving consistently.

Here are just some of the highlights of The Simple Golf Swing:

  • David highlights the Set Up as one of the most important aspects of your golf game to concentrate on. It is the first thing you need to work on as it affects all other elements of your game and is a major factor in achieving that consistency.
You'll find this on page 4
  • The book is designed to be uncomplicated and teach you to improve your golf with relative speed by learning "The Simple Golf Swing" in just in 3 hours.
You'll find this on page 10
  • The book promises to lower your score by at least seven strokes within your first two rounds.
You'll find this on page 15
  • It also promises to drop 12 strokes off your score within two weeks.
You'll find this on page 18
  • And to cap it all off you are promised to be a transformed golfer within a month and have you scoring in the 70's by then.
You'll find this on page 21

Of course, The Simple Golf Swing isn't for everybody. Here are some of the areas where I thought David Nevogt missed the mark:

  • Whilst "The Simple Golf Swing" has very high quality written instruction on how to improve your golf swing the lack of video instruction is a disappointment. People learn in different ways and good visual aids are often a vital part of the learning process.

That being said, I feel that The Simple Golf Swing is perfect for:

  • Someone like Aaron, a player that was scoring regularly in the high 80's or low 90's, partly because his ability to hit the ball more than 160 yards off the tee was limited and this reminded me of who . However, as a result of this thorough and effective programme he has increased his driving range consistently to around 220 yards by implementing all the training tips and techniques contained within.

How to Break 80 Review

How to Break 80 and Shoot Like the Pros

A book by Jack Moorehouse

Rating: ★★★★½

  • Are you as interested in the game of golf as I am ?. Possibly something to do with one's age and stage in life. It is pretty obvious, that in order to enjoy a game like golf, you really want to be able to play it well.
Regardless of how financial you are in affording lessons, it is also good to work on your game yourself AND have something like this book to refer back to in the form of great golf tips and techniques.
  • Perhaps you are like me, where your biggest issue when it comes to golf is one of consistency. You can pull out the big drives, you can pitch or chip like a pro and your putting is pretty good. Well that is on a good day or it might be a good section of any golf day. Trouble is you, like me, probably shoot regularly in the 90's when really you have the capability to play in the 70's. The difference is consistency. Like they say " be consistent or you'll be non-existant" and that is really frustrating, knowing you can play good golf but finding one is only doing it sporadically.
  • You might have a friend, like I do, in this case Mark, who is a talented golfer and plays in the mid 80's. He too ,is a little inconsistent.
Mark's issue, however, is that he always let's his emotions run away with him when things are not going that well and he has been known to bend a few clubs.
The main issue, is that this makes it hard for him to be consistent and takes a lot of the enjoyment out of the game for him and his playing partners.
I am sure you would be equally impressed with what "How TO Break 80″has been able to do to Mark's emotional approach to the game. He is more thorough in his mental approach and preparation and is now both enjoying the game and, unfortunately for me, still at that higher level, because, as I improve, so does he.
  • There really is nothing like going out to play a golf game knowing you have been able to do it to the best of your ability. It is very satisfying, rewarding and even thrilling, resulting in a desire to come back, play again and keep improving.
It does, however, require a lot of practice, concentration, committment and a willingness to learn from those around us and the expert advice available to help achieve the best results we can.
Training yourself to do it properly is a difficult task. That's why I went looking for, and found, with "How To Break 80″ and I sincerely hope it is right for you too.

Here are just some of the highlights of How to Break 80 and Shoot Like the Pros:

  • I was pleasantly suprised to find that keeping ones emotions in check by slowing down the process and taking baby steps towards your ultimate goal, was a key part of the golfing process.
You'll find a very useful technique revealed to help you with the emotional side of golf.
You'll find this on page 22
  • I hadn't realised, until reading "How To Break 80″, that balance was such an important part of the process in improving your golf.
To help improve and enhance your balance there is a very clever little exercise designed to make all the difference.
You'll find this on page 32
  • My biggest thing in golf, personally, and one of the major "ah hah" moments when reading this book, is learning not to get ahead of ones-self and not trying to run before you can walk and then trying to sustain excellent play for the whole 18 hole, creating too much pressure.
The tip on how to break it down into bite size chunks
makes the whole process a lot more achievable and believable.
You'll find this on page 77
  • I thought I knew a lot about the short game, pitching and chipping. But I found out that I was approaching it all the wrong way by putting too much emphasis on the drive and thinking the rest will look after itself. The right way to approach your game is revealed in this very easy to understand manner that really makes sense.
You'll find this on page 46
  • I was quite surprised to find out about the extra bonuses that come with this ebook. There is a whole raft of extra articles on specialised parts of your game that are a great addition and back up to the main book.
You'll find this on page After purchase

Of course, How to Break 80 and Shoot Like the Pros isn't for everybody. Here are some of the areas where I thought Jack Moorehouse missed the mark:

  • Perhaps the book could have had a few more photos of techniques being described. Even though it does have many I felt a beginner would struggle to visualise some techniques.
  • I feel a little more explanation of some of the terms used would be helpful in the form of a glossary. To have this to refer to at various stages would have really enhanced the book.

That being said, I feel that How to Break 80 and Shoot Like the Pros is perfect for:

  • A busy excecutive who plays once every month or so and who is really keen on the game and who in fact is a great natural hitter of the ball but has had no formal training or lessons.
